Best Friends manages a model No More Homeless Pets campaign with shelters and humane groups statewide to ensure that every healthy dog or cat that's ever born can be guaranteed a loving home. And Best Friends reaches across the nation, helping humane groups, individual people, and entire communities to set up spay/neuter, shelter, foster, and adoption programs in their own neighborhoods, cities, and states.
Monterey SPCA - Formed In 1905 to address the problems of stray "dogs and cats about town" as well as to discuss the "different diseases prevalent among horses" and to "investigate the abuse and fast driving of donkeys and horses," The SPCA has had a long and rich history of helping people and animals in Monterey County. In 2005 The SPCA of Monterey County will celebrate 100 years of caring for animals and those who love them.
